Business scoring starts, of course, with delivering top quality. But meticulously responding to market needs is just as important. At sill manufacturer Window Technology, they have fulfilled this double obligation for many years. A simple calculation shows that the company, which was founded in 1999, is approaching its silver company anniversary this year. For director Jurgen Rensen a good time to look back.
In 25 years a lot of great things can come about. This is evident once again when we examine the start and further development of Window Technology. An adventure that begins in 1999. Kees Riemers and Wolfgang Buiting, colleagues at a window and door hardware manufacturer, decide to start their own trading company and factory in hardware for the wood frame industry under the names Venster Techniek and Profiel Techniek respectively. The base is Zelhem, located near Doetinchem, an excellent place to achieve great achievements, as will soon be apparent....
"After making my appearance here in 2003, I became a co-shareholder in 2004," Rensen looks back. "After merging the two companies under the name Window Technology, soon after that we shifted our emphasis to the development and production of our own products. This resulted, among other things, in the Easy-Ent®Flex-Door, a lower threshold system that we had in our product range until last year." After Buiting left the company in 2006, the decision was made a year later to build a state-of-the-art, 2,500-square-meter new building on Ericaweg in Zelhem. Pure necessity, as the company's delivery program has grown considerably. In 2015, Riemers decided to slow down and passed the baton to his son-in-law Jurgen Rensen, who has owned all company shares since the year 2000.
In 2024 Venster Techniek is an experienced developer/producer of a wide range of sills, glass and stop profiles and sealing profiles. Innovative and comfort-enhancing quality products with which the team of about fifty employees now serves about one hundred large and small customers throughout the Netherlands. Inventions that also meet the most stringent requirements of the Buildings Decree and are extensively tested for wind and water tightness. Coming up with customer-specific solutions, preferably in cooperation with the customer, has become the hobbyhorse of Venster Techniek. Indeed, according to Rensen, this specific quality has been decisive for the advance and growth of the company.
"Both the financial crisis and the construction crisis caused us to reposition around 2009," he says. "This centered around the question of how we could substantially increase our sales and revenue. That step caused a major boost. Both in terms of products, sales and clientele. Today, we are very close to our valued customers and focus on developing customer-specific products. We listen to our customers. We also keep a sharp eye on market and customer needs and try to integrate our activities as much as possible into our customers' production processes. That works out more than great. In short, we know better than anyone what is wanted. That is what we anticipate, also for the next 25 years.
