Building with an eye to the future

Meeting new relationships. Showing beautiful solutions and increasing brand awareness. These are objectives for many companies when they participate in Polyclose: the biennial trade fair in Ghent. The fair scheduled from August 31 to September 2, 2022, offers an overview of all moving elements on facades, including gates and fences. 

'Clients and building users expect and deserve quality and security. Whether it's safety, comfort or low energy consumption. At Polyclose we show the solutions that contribute to this. Regulations, but certainly also the construction world, set increasingly high requirements. Just a good product is not always enough. It's about the solution, a secure solution that has been tested and certified.' 

Speaking is Rob Huvers, Manager Marketing & New Business at Kawneer Nederland BV, which with some 150 employees focuses on designing, developing and selling aluminum profile systems for windows, doors, sliding doors and curtain walls. From its office in Harderwijk, the company serves the Benelux, the German-speaking countries and the Czech Republic. 

"In addition to the total solutions we offer ourselves, we have also partnered with some prominent complementary players in the market to offer a joint solution. Because the sum of qualitative products does not necessarily ensure a qualitative result. This is how we fulfill the demands of the market and our slogan 'Building Solutions'." 

In addition to the practical solutions, Kawneer introduced its refreshed global corporate identity with the central slogan "Building Legacies. Rob: "Because that's what we do: from our offices in the US and Europe, we help build the most iconic buildings around the world with our aluminum facade systems."

Finding the solution to the future 

Resource scarcity, climate change, the focus on health and urbanization, among others, will change the built environment into the future. "To combat climate change, the European Union has set high ambitions to minimize emissions of CO2 in particular," Rob said. "In addition, the Netherlands has the goal of being fully circular by 2050. This places high demands on the entire construction sector, which is largely responsible for CO2 emissions and raw material use. Kawneer offers a wide range of products with insulation values that have a positive impact on the energy performance of buildings. For example, we are introducing the AA 5110 in bellows version with the unique thermoblock: the latter provides excellent insulation values. In addition, an increasing number of our products are also cradle-to-cradle certified: the ultimate proof of sustainability and circularity. To meet safety, comfort and health requirements, we offer numerous practical and certified solutions for noise reduction, fire safety and burglar resistance, among others. In short, Kawneer is ready for the future."

First major meeting for industry peers

The 20th edition of European trade fair Polyclose promises to be a special one: it is the first major trade meeting since the emergence of the covid pandemic. For the first time, sector colleagues can meet each other again and see new innovations.
