With the signing of the Circular Facade Economy Agreement on Feb. 1, 2024, the agreements surrounding this process were established by the relevant industry associations and government.
This is a celebratory moment for the industry associations and ministries involved. This is because the signing of the Circular Facade Economy Agreement marks an important milestone: the transition to concrete implementation. The signing of the signatures took place in The Hague during the launch of the Program on a Future-Friendly Living Environment. The signed agreement can be found on the website circulairegeveleconomie.nl.
Implementation includes three phases: The first phase involves surveying loop processes and solutions with companies with the goal of determining directions. The second phase is for piloting systems and the final step involves ensuring conservation to 2030 and beyond. The Executive Team Circular Facade Economy has already started November 2023.
The Circular Facade Economy is an initiative of five trade associations in the facade construction industry: the Metal Windows and Facade Industry Association (VMRG), the Plastic Facade Elements Industry Association (VKG), Dutch Trade Association for the Carpentry Industry (NBVT), Bouwend Nederland Vakgroep GLAS, Vlakglas Recycling Nederland (VRN) and Algemene Branchevereniging Hang- en Sluitwerk (VHS).
On February 1, 2024, the facade industry signed the Circular Facade Economy Agreement with the central government. And were agreed on the ambitions, goals and activities towards 2030.
With an allocation of an investment from National Growth Fund in the Future Resilient Living Environment program for the Circular Facade Economy in 2023, the resources are available to continue working on this ambition.
