GEALAN gives window frames a digital memory with DBS chip

Reading frames easily and quickly

GEALAN's future is focused on digitization. The European manufacturer of frame profiles proves this once again with the introduction of the DBS WinDo Flow. A chip and associated software ensure that all process steps can be recorded and controlled from a single application. This results in a more efficient work process, with more insight, better service, easier maintenance and direct communication between all parties involved.

The digital chip for window frames

The DBS WinDo Flow consists of a small NFC (Near Field Communication) chip that is placed under the pane of glass when a window frame is glazed and then is no longer visible. Using a scanner, the chip is linked to the system and can be read via laptop, smartphone and tablet. "All data and information, from order processing and production of a window frame to assembly at the end customer and service afterwards, can then be processed within this software solution," explains Bas van den Eerenbeemt, Head of Services & Development GEALAN Benelux.

All data centralized in one place

The data is securely stored centrally in the Cloud and can be managed via user-friendly applications. This enables information about the assembled window frames to be read out quickly and easily by the window frame manufacturers and fitters at any time and at any location. Additional information, such as notes and order attachments, can also be imported into this environment. The application of this NFC technology can be integrated into existing business software. The design of the app can be fully adapted to individual company requirements. The corporate identity, with your own logo and colors, as well as personalized information and offers can be added as desired.

First in the Netherlands

Ebbers Kozijnen is the first Dutch window frame manufacturer that has already integrated the chip into its production process. Owner Maarten Ebbers: "We are constantly looking at areas for improvement to work more sustainably and efficiently, and we are making great strides in that with this innovation."

Early this year, the Building Quality Assurance Act (WKB) went into effect. This law is based on the fact that the supplier is responsible for ensuring that a product is in order and correctly installed. "Because each frame element is now traceable and all information of the element remains digitally available, we can easily secure the WKB requirements in our system," Maarten said. GEALAN is pleased to now roll out this digital memory for the frame further in the Benelux.
