The trend toward saving resources does not stop with PVC profiles. Other material compositions, thinner walls and the elimination of steel reinforcements present door manufacturers with major challenges. If a door system is to be permanently stable and secure, it is essential that the door hinges be securely fixed.
With the further development of the KT-Fix fastening element patented by Dr. Hahn, the innovation leaders from Mönchengladbach have once again developed a suitable solution. Hahn KT-Fix compact now secures the wing section of the highly popular Hahn KT-V 6R hinge series with four short bushings that spread open immediately after the first wall. It is therefore no longer necessary to drill into the steel reinforcement at all. A drilling depth of 10 mm is sufficient. This speeds up processing in the workshop and avoids the risk of profile damage from metal chips.
This is very effective for load transfer even with unfavorable system characteristics. Two screws, which can be the supplied special fastening screws or self-drilling screws, secure the hinge part to the profile surface. The door hinge remains dimensionally stable in the aligned position. In addition, it is resistant to very high and very low temperatures acting on the system profile. Tilting of the wing hinge is thus largely excluded. Moreover, the Hahn KT-V 6R door hinge continues to offer high burglary protection even with the new hinge mounting.
The usual ease of adjustment and the indicated adjustment path of the door hinge are also retained. The hinge can be adjusted in six directions when the sash is hung.
The Hahn KT-Fix compact variant is suitable for all new standard profiles. As usual, the hinges can be used DIN left and DIN right and for both inward and outward opening doors.
Even with the new fastening element, this hinge type is expected to be approved with hinge class 14 according to EN 1935:2002.
