KOMO product certificate for manufacturer of plastic facade panels

Important for partners in the market who want to see proof of quality

On April 3, Floor Vogel of Reelwood Facade Panels and Cladding received the KOMO® Attest with Product Certificate for Reelwood Facade Panels from Eric Hendriks, Product Manager Building and Civil Engineering at independent testing institute Kiwa.

Floor, obviously a satisfied man, reacts happily the moment he has the official papers in his hands. "More and more of our partners in the market are asking good and critical questions about the quality of our panels. This is why we had asked Kiwa to carry out independent quality checks at our premises, where processes, procedures and products would be properly analyzed. The end result? Well... we deliver the quality we promise and everything of course in accordance with laws and regulations."

The main performance of the façade panels under the Building Works Environment Decree shows that within existing construction, they are excellent for situational and high-rise buildings, among others, they meet at least fire class 4 on both the visible and rear side, they are waterproof while the seams are water resistant. "For application within new construction, the panels received the same positive ratings," Floor added.

According to Floor, the following product characteristics were tested in detail: appearance, profiling, profile thickness, working profile width, length, straightness of view surface and sides, flatness of view surface, profile mass, behavior when heated, shrinkage at 100 degrees Celsius, resistance to impact, initial film adhesion strength, resistance to UV aging and Vicat processing temperature. "In all these criteria, we met the requirements," he said.

Floor explains that the Reelwood siding panels are available as a round-edge panel, rebated panel or gunwale panel. The siding panels are available in a variety of colors. Furthermore, they feature a textured film.

The round edge panel and the rebate panel are both available in a so-called 2tone® version. There are then two different colors on one plank, making it possible to manufacture the seam of the plank in a different foil color.
