Within the Voilàp group, to which elumatec also belongs, it was recently decided to produce machines for processing PVC profiles under the brand name (someco). The range includes various systems for small workshops as well as larger automated window and door factories: welding and polishing machines, sawing and processing machines and systems for assembly and logistics. At Polyclose, systems for PVC and aluminum were presented and demonstrated side by side. The double miter sawing machine, welding machines and contour milling machine from (someco) clearly caught the eye.
The name (someco) was already known in the 1970s for innovative and quality solutions in the field of PVC welding. However, this new project goes much further, because now teams with extensive experience in specific fields are working together. For example, from Germany, the group has extensive know-how in machining centers, which is combined here with the knowledge of seamless welding and traditional welding and polishing, which comes from Italy. For example, the welding machines are equipped with the innovative but complicated "seamless technology," which allows all types of profiles to be welded, without the need for post-treatment on a polishing machine.
"In the past, large installations invariably involved working with a major German manufacturer, but today all systems are simply produced in-house, whether a simple machine for the smaller processor or a highly complex solution for larger automated window and door manufacturers," says Bas Ladestein, managing director at elumatec Benelux BV. "Today (someco) simply offers a complete range for the processing of PVC profiles: sawing and processing machines, welding and polishing machines, but also includes systems for assembly and logistics."
For example, SVL4H/4A is a welding and polishing combination for PVC profiles, which consists of the SM 4H horizontal welding machine including an element outfeed unit, a cooling zone and rotary table, the 4-axis angle polisher (4A) and finally the in-line outfeed table. With the SM H4, the customer gets a fully digital horizontal CNC machine for welding PVC profiles, available in 2 versions: 3500 x 2700 mm and 2500 x 2700 mm. It can be equipped with optional welding blocks for standard and seamless welding (seamless welding), including acrylic and coated profiles.
"Other machines in the program include the EV series polishers, saws (GLS 192 and DG 142XL) and various types of milling centers, wing stop assembly lines, assembly tables, buffer systems, profile carts and installations for chip extraction," the managing director continues. "Finally, there are also the high-speed PVC downstream machining centers SBZ 608, SBZ 609 and SBZ 625, the latest addition we will soon present at Fensterbau Frontale, for drilling and milling all types of window and door profiles and simultaneously for screwing steel reinforcements. The gantry design makes the machines extremely suitable for profiles with large cross-sections and a process-optimized material flow."
The sales team is also responsible for promoting the systems for processing PVC profiles. Dave Ceulemans, who has been the sales manager for Belgium since last summer, divides his time equally between aluminum (elumatec) and PVC (someco). "Recently, the first machines were installed at Luten Kunststof Kozijnen. This company purchased a 4-head welding machine type SLV 4H with an EV 4A 4-axis CNC polishing machine and a CM 1H 1-head welding machine," Bas Ladestein concludes. "At Polyclose, the machining centers from elumatec and (someco) were also placed side by side. For processing PVC profiles, we showed a DG 142XL double mitre saw, a CM 1H and SM 2LV - respectively a 1- and 2-head welding machine, and a contour milling machine for seamless welding type EV 2E. These could already count on a lot of interest."
