Management buyout and multi-million dollar investment for interior door specialist Theuma

Fresh energy and momentum in leadership of company

Bekkevoort (Belgium) and Nijkerk (Netherlands), April 16, 2019
Theuma, a leading European manufacturer of interior door systems and frames for commercial and residential construction with branches in Belgium and the Netherlands, announces that it has completed a management buyout. In parallel, the investment fund M80, operating in the Benelux and France, has made a substantial capital investment in Theuma. Together, the management buy-out and investment are intended to strongly support Theuma's prosperous development.
With the support of M80, Theuma will continue to develop with verve on the existing new construction and renovation markets in Belgium and the Netherlands where it is already one of the most important or one of the major players. The aim in the medium term is to become the best-known brand in the Benelux with a number 1 position in the field of interior door systems (i.e. door and frame sets) for house and apartment construction. Theuma's distinctive position for this are fast and easy to assemble internal door sets with accompanying frames, which are tested and certified and fully finished. High-profile projects that Theuma has supplied include the NATO headquarters in Brussels and the Markthal in Rotterdam and the Amsteltower residential and hotel tower in Amsterdam.

Proven quality in interior door sets
Theuma was founded in Belgium in 1962 and has since built up a solid reputation and a leading position as a manufacturer of interior door sets and technical door sets with fireproof, soundproof and burglar-resistant qualities. Theuma supplies professional builder's merchants, timber merchants, wholesalers and installation companies and door specialists and also works with architects, property developers, investors and housing associations. Theuma's products find their way into individual residential houses and apartment complexes, social housing, service flats and student housing. As well as offices, schools, hotels, hospitals and sports complexes.

Hallmarks, technology and environment
Theuma has internationally recognized certificates for business operations and products and complies with all applicable Belgian and Dutch regulations. Theuma's interior door systems and frames are also already being tested as a whole in accordance with European directives for CE marking. As soon as CE marking comes into force for the industry, Theuma is ready to be the first to carry it for its product systems. CE marking indicates that the product meets uniform legal European requirements in areas such as safety, health and the environment. Furthermore, Theuma actively strives to continually reduce the environmental impact of its operations.

Leap forward
Frank Abbeel of Theuma states, 'Theuma's new management sets ambitious goals and, thanks to the investment by M80, looks forward to achieving them with great confidence and enthusiasm. We can build on a rock-solid foundation and reputation for easily and quickly assembled interior door systems and associated frames, which, thanks to their complete finish, provide reduced costs and worries for our customers.'

Peter Maenhout, CEO of M80 said, "Due to its leading market position and manufacturing expertise, Theuma represents a very attractive investment opportunity for M80.
