Range of sliding door hardware for indoors expanded
For more than half a century, Henderson Nederland has stood for quality and durable track systems, sliding and folding door hardware. But also for continuous development and innovation, based on interior trends and market requirements and in accordance with the highest product standards. Business Unit Manager Rene van den Biggelaar takes us through the latest developments and tells us what we can expect in the new year...
Minimal resistance when opening and closing all types of interior sliding doors. Even in combination with accessories such as double softclose or a flush or telescopic mechanism. With that desire in mind, Henderson has expanded its interior sliding door hardware with the Husky Pro systems. "Unique to the Husky Pro series are the specifically shaped wheels and hanging rollers in the runner, making it run even smoother and promoting anti-jump," Van den Biggelaar says. "If desired, the rail can be sealed with end caps and a separate soft-close unit (dual action/open and close side) is also integrated. In addition, users have a choice of manual or electric operation for right-sliding applications."
Initially, the Husky Pro systems were supplied exclusively in aluminum, says Van den Biggelaar. "Especially for the Dutch market, the color black has recently been added. This makes the rail systems even more in line with current interior design trends, in which black predominates."
Late this year, Henderson is also introducing new cover caps for wall and ceiling mounting, as an extension of the Husky Pro series. "Our newest cover caps are smaller and tighter and can be mounted very close to the rail. This makes them sit tighter on the door and you have almost no see-through space," Van den Biggelaar says.
"Whereas the current cover caps look a bit more rounded, the latest click and end caps are sleekly square. This allows us to create a very sleek look, again keeping in line with current interior design trends."
Instead of aluminum, the latest end caps are made of plastic, he says. "This allows them to be attached without fasteners such as screws. Customers have a choice of cover caps in anodized silver or anodized black, combined with a gray or black end cap."
Early next year, Henderson will introduce a new Husky Folding system for folding doors. "The new Husky Folding is based on the Husky Pro aluminum rail and runs considerably smoother and quieter than its steel predecessor," says Van den Biggelaar. "In addition, the system can be mounted even more easily and without any chances of error. Unique are the ease of use and flexibility of the system, thanks to the specifically shaped wheels and suspension rollers in the runner."
Husky Folding is suitable for lightweight doors up to 30 kg, he says. "Because there is no bottom guide, users are completely free in their floor choice. Whereas with the current system we can only fold sets of two sashes, with the latest system we can also open and close odd sash numbers. This opens up new application possibilities, for example in combination with a wicket door."
For those looking to fold larger sash weights, Henderson offers the Roomflex 40 folding door system. This system is based on the same rail system as Husky Folding, only with Roomflex 40, the rail is behind instead of above the door. "This allows door leaves of up to 40 kg to be used without a bottom guide," Van den Biggelaar said. "The hinges and pins of Roomflex 40 are finished in stainless steel, giving the system a classy appearance. In addition, the system is very reasonably priced."
Also innovative is the Compact 120, where the fastening is milled into the top of the door. This leaves the fastening flush with the top of the door, leaving a minimalist opening of only 2 mm to the track system. "Compact 120 is suitable for doors up to 120 kg. Thanks to the simplified system, installation companies can save up to 75% milling work," Van den Biggelaar says. "Moreover, the system is universally applicable: left, right and including stop or softclose. The Compact 120 was initially developed for the Husky Pro series, but can also be used in combination with Husky Steel and Soltaire 120."
As a final novelty, Henderson will introduce a new undermount hardware for cabinet doors in the first quarter of 2024, completing its system range. First to be introduced will be a system for 18 mm-thick doors, featuring a narrow bottom and top rail, adjustable runners and an optional soft-close function. Because the system can handle weights of up to 50 kg, it is ideally suited to, for example, closets, kitchen cabinets and storage doors.
