A glass awning protects the entrance of a building from weather and wind. It also gives the facade of a residential or commercial building a sleek and modern look. The range of G-Fittings includes a series of stable and durable solutions in different designs: Gilla with point holders and tubular supports, Dittie with stainless steel pull rods, the frameless Sophia and the cantilevered Farah. The specialist is now expanding that portfolio with the cantilevered, frameless NANE, which scores highly in terms of both design and functionality.
G-Fittings has had a strong reputation for more than 20 years when it comes to fittings used in systems and doors in glass. "However, we wanted to sell a little more than just fittings. So we have greatly expanded our range to include the glass wall and door systems Zolda, Mylenka, Aleandra and Aleide, among others. Thanks to our glass sliding stackable wall Agape, a consumer can use terrace, balcony or loggia all year round, regardless of the weather conditions," says sales manager Martin Hohmann. "In addition to these sliding elements, we also produce and supply glass canopies, which provide protection from the weather. They are used as a roof at the entrance of a store, restaurant or office, at a bus stop or bicycle shed, on a terrace or balcony, ...."
The range of solid and durable glass awnings includes several types. For example, customers can choose a Gilla awning, where point brackets and tubular supports in V2A stainless steel provide stability and safety, or the Dittie version with point brackets and tie rods made of stainless steel. They are available with glass panels from 10 to 17.52 mm thick. "Sophia and Farah, in turn, are two self-supporting, frameless canopies supported by an aluminum wall clamp profile of up to 500 cm wide," the sales manager continues. "The combination of this profile with special glass of 17.52 mm, 21.52 mm and even 25.52 mm (SentryGlas®) results in a load capacity of up to 1.5 and 2 kN/m², respectively. While with a Sophia awning a projection of up to 1300 mm is possible, a Farah canopy even goes up to 1500 mm."
At G-Fittings, they are not sitting still and continue to optimize and expand their portfolio. Today, the family-run company from Emmerich am Rhein, Germany, introduces the new glass canopy NANE, which catches the eye with its robust construction and modern, frameless design that fits seamlessly into any facade design. "Our latest development is made of high-quality structural aluminum and equipped with SentryGlas®, an extra-strong laminated safety glass. This offers aesthetic benefits, but also ensures maximum stability and durability. The laminated glass has a load capacity of up to 3.8 kN/m², which roughly corresponds to 3.8 m of fresh snow at maximum cantilever," explains Martin Hohmann.
"This low-maintenance and weather-resistant glass canopy is available in various versions: in a length of 1500 or 3000 mm and cut to size on request, with a cantilever of up to 1200 mm, silver matte anodized or raw, but optionally in RAL colors. End caps provide a neat finish and optionally this canopy can also be equipped with an LED strip. NANE comes with detailed assembly instructions and pre-drilled mounting holes, allowing for quick and easy installation. This cantilevered frameless glass awning therefore combines aesthetics and functionality in one product."
