The Netherlands is getting to grips with the wave of renovation in the Netherlands and new housing to be built before 2030! VEKA is contributing to this with future-proof solutions for the Dutch market. Plastic window frames based on VEKA profiles are high quality and future-proof. During Polyclose 2022, VEKA's exhibition presentation will focus on the advantages of VEKA plastic profiles.
Wood, aluminum, plastic or a combination of these materials are now the common options. In the past, window frames with wooden profiles still dominated the market. In the 1960s, however, that changed: window frames with plastic profiles became increasingly popular.
We have listed the six added values of plastic profiles.
Window frames play a significant part in a home's energy consumption. Studies have shown that energy losses through window frames cause CO2 emissions of almost 1 gigaton per year worldwide. To reduce global energy consumption, energy-efficient window frames and profiles are therefore indispensable. For this reason, VEKA developed the VEKA SOFTLINE 82 NL and VEKAMOTION 82 profile systems. With innovative multi-chamber technology and a recessed depth of 82 mm, they provide excellent sound and heat insulation and contribute to savings in energy costs.
Plastic window frames also offer maintenance and cleaning advantages. This is because the plastic surface repels dirt and is weather-resistant. Unlike wooden window frames, plastic window frames never need to be painted. All this saves money, time and resources. In addition, VEKA unburdens homeowners with VEKAPRO: the new range of cleaning and maintenance products, developed together with a maintenance and cleaning specialist: Sonax. This makes the products ideal for regular or intensive cleaning, sealing and hardware maintenance.
Plastic window frames that have reached the end of their life cycle can be recycled for nearly 100%. "These granules of recycled PVC have the same excellent properties as newly produced PVC. The maximum content of recycled material in a plastic frame profile averages 50%. This is due to the production method, where recycled PVC is mainly used in the core of the profile," says Jürgen Herbe, Head of Communications at VEKA AG. Many Dutch frame manufacturers and waste processors dispose of used PVC through VEKA Umwelttechnik.
Plastic window frames have great aesthetic value for both old and modern homes, with or without large glass surfaces. VEKA's Class A profiles, produced exclusively to the DIN EN 12608 standard, are well suited for frames in large sizes. A wide spectrum of colors as well as wood and metal decors is available for surface design. Ultramatte colors are in demand. With the unique surface finishing technology VEKA SPECTRAL, VEKA is responding to this. One distinguishes itself from conventional color systems by its unique look and feel: stylish ultra-matt colors combined with a velvety surface. With the matching uni-colored undercoat, window frames thus become high-quality design objects to match any architectural style.
VEKA invests a lot of technical know-how and market knowledge in product development for the Dutch market. This has resulted in two top products that are completely tailored to the requirements and wishes of Dutch manufacturers, architects and clients: VEKA SOFTLINE 82 NL and the innovative lift-slide door concept VEKAMOTION 82. This is now also available in a special version: VEKAMOTION 82 MAX.
Indeed, as one of the world's leading profile manufacturers, VEKA AG manufactures only frame profiles of the highest quality level: Class A according to the DIN EN 12608 standard. Thanks to the excellent material properties and guaranteed outer wall thickness of 3 mm (tolerance 0.2 mm), VEKA profiles, including SOFTLINE 82 NL, lay the foundation for window frames that function reliably for decades.
