West of the Central Station of 's-Hertogenbosch you will find the Paleiskwartier. In this ultra-modern district, you will not only find numerous tasty hotspots, but also several architectural gems. The addition of Terrazzo expands that second part once again.
On the southern edge of the district you will find the new building, Terrazzo. One of the most beautiful places in the Palace Quarter, overlooking a lot of greenery. The building includes no fewer than 116 homes, all within walking distance of all the district's facilities.
The comb-like structure at the rear is ideally designed to enjoy the landscape. That nature also enters the home not only visually, but also through the fresh air that is supplied.
Thus system C was deliberately chosen: natural supply of fresh air with mechanical extraction. So ventilation grilles had to be installed in the houses, and what's more, they had to be as invisible as possible from the outside.
A selection of 4 diffusers was chosen. The DucoFit50 for those homes where the noise load was minimal. GlasMax and DucoMax are acoustic ventilation grilles for those homes where the noise load was already starting to weigh a bit more heavily. Finally, the FireMax is also present in the project: a fire-resistant grating that contributes to fire safety at critical points in the construction.
Architect Pim Köther of KENK Architects is pleased with the choice of ventilation grilles: "Due to all kinds of sustainability requirements, new buildings are often stuffed with all kinds of technical installations. Ventilation grilles are much more directly controllable and, of course, reduce motor noise in their absence."
The residents of Terrazzo can already be satisfied. Living in the city, overlooking greenery and a healthy supply of fresh air is a recipe for success in the future.
