In the vibrant heart of Amsterdam Nieuw-West, in the Reinier Engelmanstraat, stands the striking new construction project called 'Citadel'. This contemporary residential complex consists of 149 newly built rental apartments spread over five floors. It was designed and built to the highest sustainability standards. DUCO is part of this project with its contribution to modern comfort and green ventilation.
The indoor climate in a residential complex in the middle of the city is obviously very important. A combination of both fresh air supply, acoustic comfort and shading are a number of elements that can contribute to a high level of living comfort.
And that is exactly what DUCO was called in to do. In consultation with the consultant 'Climatic Design Consult' and the client, the choice fell on a selection of three grilles for the supply of fresh air. The DucoMax, an acoustic ventilation grille, for the homes where the noise levels would be experienced as 'very disturbing'. Furthermore, the FireMax is also present in the project: a fire-resistant grating that contributes to fire safety at critical points in the construction. And as a final grille, the DucoTwin was also applied. This grating combines natural ventilation and outdoor fabric shading in one system.
