Bohle's stainless steel point holders for glass allow you to quickly and easily create frameless glazing for facades, balustrades and roofs, among other things. The small and versatile all-rounders, also known as glass holders, elegantly set the tone for glass and visually disappear completely into the background. Moreover, they follow a stable design according to DIN EN 1991-1-1 and guarantee precise handling. In any place, in any situation.
Bohle has two types of point holders in its program as standard. First, the 100-year-old company (see boxed text) offers a rigid variant. "This consists of two round discs of 60 or 80 millimeters that are screwed onto a threaded rod," explains Frank Bouwman, general manager on behalf of Bohle Benelux, which operates from Veenendaal. "In between is room for a glass plate with a thickness of 10 to 21.52 millimeters. In the case of our adjustable point holders, on the other hand, the part on the wall is considerably larger because it consists of two halves. This makes it possible to adjust the whole to all sides by means of a slotted hole. The distance to the substrate can also be flexibly adjusted by up to 5 millimeters. Even after the glazing has been applied."
Point holders are ideally suited for the lateral mounting of glass panels. This makes them a popular solution for glass panels that serve as stair railings and combinations of stair and gallery glazing. The design of Bohle's point holders also provides a decisive advantage during their installation: the distance between the pane and the stair step is slightly variable and can be easily adjusted to suit the circumstances.
Point holders become a special eye-catcher when used as fall-through protection. Both for indoor and outdoor applications. Compared to a solid balustrade profile, point holders from Bohle have a visual advantage above all. And that has everything to do with the product's small size and all-around discreet appearance.
To achieve proper mounting of point holders, the substrate is essential. This determines the fastening material required for mounting. "The spacer is attached to the substrate via a slotted hole," continues Bouwman. "This allows inaccuracies during drilling to be compensated for without any problems. Then the installer can place the pane and screw the front part to the base through a hole in the glass." The point holders are supplied from stock in 304 and 316 grade stainless steel. Special sizes and RAL colors are available upon request.
Finally, Bohle's stainless steel point holders are very versatile. They are suitable for toughened safety glass and for laminated safety glass with a thickness of 10 to 21.52 mm. "The decisive factor is the right choice of inserts for the desired glass thickness," explains Bouwman. "In most cases, these are made of high-quality PVC." With the right point holder, even spans up to 2,500 mm with a glass height of 1,300 mm can be made.
