Slim hardware for inward-turning windows

The look of yesteryear, with all the comfort and safety requirements of today

Outward-hung windows are space-saving. Residents can arrange their window sills freely and insect screens can be easily installed. It is not for nothing that these windows were very popular in our Dutch homes for a long time. "In new construction projects, outward-turning windows are increasingly being replaced by tilt-and-turn windows, but in renovation projects the windows are still as popular as ever," says Frank Kok, who heads J.P.M. Kok trading company with his brother Genio. "After all, this allows the look of yesteryear to be preserved. In combination with our HABO hardware, contemporary requirements for operation and burglary safety are also met."

J.P.M. Kok of Soest has been a leading wholesaler of quality building hardware systems since 1935. The range consists mainly of hardware for frames, windows and doors, which are sourced from renowned manufacturers in Sweden, Germany, England, Italy and China. Many products are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, SKG, KOMO and the Police Mark Safe Living.

Great interest

J.P.M. Kok represents products from HABO, HAKO, WINLOCK, GSG, Frank Allart, Giesse, ERA, SWF, AH and Schlegel, among others, many of which are specially developed or adapted for the Dutch market. HABO fittings have been part of the range since 1960 and still enjoy great interest, Kok said. "In the past 64 years, the hardware has evolved considerably, based on the demands and wishes in the market. For example, the hardware has become slimmer, so that the joinery factories need to remove less wood to build the systems into their frames. In addition, the hardware is uniform in terms of processing."

Burglar-resistant multi-point locking

The HABO hardware is made of galvanized steel. At the base is a burglary-resistant multi-point locking device with an associated window opener. "The operation is very simple. Multiple locking points and an expansion joint can be operated with one handle," Kok said. "In doing so, the window can be safely secured at any desired position." What is nice about the HABO hardware is that it is also suitable for exceptional situations. "For example, if one wants the handle higher or in the case of a thin mullion. For example in the Soesterkwartier in Amersfoort, the HABO hardware has proved to be a godsend for this reason."
