Supplier of specialized software for the construction industry makes strategic acquisition

Strengthening position in the Netherlands and Belgium

Matrix Group, specializing in software solutions for the construction industry, has acquired all shares of Belgium's Techwin BV, a leading supplier of software for the window and door industry. "The acquisition is in line with our strategy to further develop software solutions for the window frame industry and expand our sales area," said Hans Storms, branch manager for the Window Frame Industry at Matrix Software.

The takeover of Techwin BV by Matrix Group took effect on October 2, 2023. At Polyclose, both companies will also present themselves to the trade public under one roof for the first time. Hans Storms is pleased with the cooperation: "Techwin is a leading Belgian company that is also active on the Dutch market and has a product portfolio consisting mainly of software solutions for the facade industry. Thanks to the acquisition, we can jointly strengthen our position on the Dutch and Belgian markets."

Joining forces

The branch manager emphasizes that the company Techwin, its employees and its products will continue to exist in the same operational way. According to André de Weerdt, founder and shareholder of Techwin, this will offer continuity to Techwin's customers and employees: "I have always strived for long-term solutions and this is how we will achieve a good future for all stakeholders. Combining the knowledge and capacity of these two leading companies is going to strengthen this."

Ambition

Heico Heuver, director of Matrix Group, also welcomes the arrival of Techwin: "Since 2021, Matrix has been part of Civenso from Sweden. After the acquisition, our group has 52 employees and we serve over fifteen hundred customers in the Netherlands, Belgium and other countries. We have the ambition to further develop our position and services in the window frame industry. Our goal is to take the functionality, quality and service of our software to an even higher level."

The Matrix All-in-1 concept also includes software for calculating window frames.

By joining forces, software solutions for the window frame industry can be developed even further, agrees Hans. "In the design, calculation and production of window frames, software is indispensable. We supply software solutions for calculation, work preparation, project and production management, customer relationship management and CNC machine control. This software is mainly used by frame factories, concrete factories, steel construction companies and structural engineers. Our All-in-1 concept also includes Matrix WebKozijn, a full-service cloud solution for composing, calculating, quoting, ordering and producing window frames."

Time Saving

"With this web tool a dealer can put together complete window frames with which he immediately receives a price and quotation, and as an order the manufacturer can immediately produce this window frame without the intervention of a work planner," Hans continues. "In this way, considerable savings are made on, for example, calculation time and work preparation. This is also a response to the growing shortage of professionals in our sector, since things like calculation and work preparation are automated thanks to Matrix WebKozijn. Not for nothing is the plastic window frame industry already making full use of this cloud solution."

BUFFER DASHBOARD TRANSPORTS
Techwin's JoSS software program was developed for controlling buffers, among other things.

In addition, Techwin JoPPS, JoRPA and JoSS products will receive plenty of attention at Polyclose. "JoPPS is the widely appreciated calculation, work preparation and machine control program, while JoRPA is intended for deliveries, orders and planning, among other things," Hans clarifies. "JoSS - the shop floor planning program - was developed for such things as controlling buffers and the necessary work instructions and drawings on screens at the assembly tables. But with this extended module it is also possible, for example, to report a lack of glass back to the office so that new glass can be ordered. And this is just a small sample of the many possibilities that the Techwin software can offer."
