Our window frames and doors are subject to increasingly higher functional requirements. For example, with regard to burglar resistance, fire resistance, closing sequence control, access control and anti-panic functions. In combination with the multi-point locks, mortise locks and panic locks by KFV/SIEGENIA, De Brug Timmerfabriek is ideally equipped to meet these requirements.
From frames, windows and doors to dormers, conservatories and prefabricated carpentry: De Brug Timmerfabriek from Son specializes in the production and supply of custom wooden solutions for new construction and renovation. With Joop and Rianne Kastelijn is now the second generation at the helm of the family business, which since its inception in 1980 has grown into a full and extremely modern carpentry factory where all possible wood operations can be realized.
"Thanks to our fully automated production line, we can respond flexibly and quickly to customer requirements, while ensuring optimum quality," explains company manager Renzo van Duijnhoven. "Upon request, our exterior frames, windows and doors are delivered to the project fully painted and including hinges and locks. And we can also provide the glazing; from double glazing to insulating, soundproof, tinted or self-cleaning glass. For the interior frames, we are also happy to take care of digital measurements and complete on-site assembly. Including the assembly of any door closers and locks."
To keep inventories up to date, De Brug Timmerfabriek has clear supplier agreements in place. Such as with KFV, part of SIEGENIA GROUP, which regularly supplies lever- and key-operated multi-point locks, mortise locks and panic locks. The cooperation with KFV/SIEGENIA is a logical one, according to Van Duijnhoven. "For example, because of the excellent price/quality ratio and high level of service, which includes product advice, drawing and fast problem follow-up."
KFV's locks were recently used by De Brug Timmerfabriek in the Veem building at Strijp-S in Eindhoven.
A lot has changed at Strijp-S in recent years. Where the former industrial area used to be known as the 'forbidden city', it is now a hip and vibrant neighborhood where many Eindhoven residents live, work and spend their leisure time. Yet you can still see a piece of history: for example, the striking Veemgebouw is still there. The ten-story building dates back to 1942, now has the status of a national monument and has been in full development since 2014. In the past, the former Philips building was called SDM. The Eindhoven company used it to store radio and TV sets and other Philips products. Where Eindhoven residents used to come to the Veemgebouw to work, today they find a large fresh food hall. On the first floor they eat delicacies at various food stalls, get groceries at the Albert Heijn supermarket, and on the floors above there is space for parking and events. On top of the building, between 2020 and 2022 and on behalf of housing corporation Trudo, Stam + De Koning Bouw built 39 duplexes for middle-income households.
Commissioned by Stam + De Koning Bouw, De Brug Timmerfabriek supplied approximately 75 (composite) wooden exterior and interior window frames, as well as 280 structural frames. "In addition, we took care of the measuring, delivery and hanging of all wooden exterior and interior doors," Van Duijnhoven says. "A total of 110 doors are involved, which have already been fitted with KFV locks in our joinery factory in Son. In consultation with hardware dealer Burghouwt, KFV AS-2502 W270 cylinder-operated multipoint locks were applied to the residential entrance doors, in combination with KFV 115-S3-PZW security locks for the storage doors."
