If Henk Weber and Didier Holslag of KUFA Raamsystemen are asked how they look back on Polyclose 2024 in Ghent, the answer is clear: "We do have a very satisfied feeling about three days in Ghent, partly because the visiting public, with all the questions they had, turned out to be very targeted. So, professional. The expectations we had of participating in this fair have therefore actually come true. In addition, we experienced a lot of appreciation for our RenoS9000® profile, which of course once again received a lot of attention on our stand, as well as a lot of interest in the Inviku® concealed hinge system."
KUFA Window Systems stood with its own square footage on an extension of Gealan's large booth, and that worked out well. "We were able to show all our sectional products on our section. We also noticed that visitors often returned to the booth a second time to get even more information from us. That is often a good sign: people think about it consciously, new questions arise and that led to a second visit," said Henk and Didier.
But ... one swallow (or: several swallows) does not of course make a good summer. It takes more than that and so - as far as the two of them are concerned - it remains a question of watching the market develop over the coming year.
"We are unfortunately still suffering from multiple conflicts in the world anno 2024, and no one knows how it will end. That is an uncertain factor. In addition, we still do not have a cabinet: that too can eventually become a 'challenge' for (the lack of) movement in the market. Everything depends on confidence. Ultimately it is about people's purchasing power. At the same time, we do expect to end up at the same level this year as in 2023. One of the reasons is that last January 1 the energy ceiling was abolished. So the need for more insulation capacity will eventually start to gain momentum again. Therefore, we believe once again that the right to exist of our RenoS9000® renovation profile has been definitively proven."
Didier and Henk explain that they met several architects at the fair. "They were really charmed by the new profile series as well as by the fact that one of our profiles is actually the narrowest plastic profile in the Netherlands. That is something they were waiting for, because architects in particular always want to create as much glass surface area as possible in their own designs. But of course aspects such as sustainability and the fact that the renovation profile is faster and easier to assemble - so you can achieve the same result with fewer employees - are also very relevant. The market is well aware of this. After all, in these times of labour shortages, people are looking for convenience
and efficiency."
So sitting still is not an option at KUFA Window Systems. "We are already facing the next big challenge," say Henk and Didier. "We have meanwhile commissioned our new profile shed. With this we are professionalizing the acceleration of the production of our sliding doors. Now, in this quarter, the first machines are being installed. So we always have our eyes on the future. And, therefore also confident, but with a healthy dose of realism."
