Security, comfort and ease of operation are three aspects with which door manufacturers score with customers. With its range of door locks, Roto conveniently responds to this. The manually operated Roto Safe A | Tandeo and the electromechanical Roto Safe E | Eneo A, for example, are characterised by automatic locking when the door is closed. This significantly increases security and comfort for the user. Of course, both types belong to a different price category.
Safe A | Tandeo from Roto is a manually operated lock with automatic locking. For end users, it couldn't be simpler. As soon as they close the door, all locking points, including the deadbolt, are activated. They no longer need to turn a key, ensuring security at all times.
"If you prefer to work with a more advanced technology, then you have also come to the right place. Indeed, our Roto Safe E | Eneo A combines all the mechanical advantages of the Tandeo with the possibility of remote unlocking using an access control system," says Gerry Claassens, head of sales for Roto Benelux. "This door lock includes a powerful but quiet electric motor that smoothly and smoothly retracts all locking points on the door with ease. Customers can unlock their door in various ways, notably via a numeric keypad, a smartphone or a separate remote control. This solution can also be integrated into Smart Home systems."
Tandeo and Eneo are based on a robust three-point locking mechanism with central latch and deadbolt. They also have a locking point at the top and bottom, both of which combine a latch and an automatic electric wedge. These locking points also have a premium look and feel.
"The whisper-quiet operation of the mechanism is also a strong asset. For example, doors close with a soft and very muffled click, avoiding disturbing noises," Claassens adds. "The locking mechanism makes the locks burglar-resistant according to standards, such as EN1627 Resistance Class 2 and SKG 2 certification. These locks are also secured against counter-pressing. As a result, doors cannot be opened from the outside when they are closed."
The three latches keep the seals consistently depressed. In this way, doors remain wind and precipitation tight, which optimizes energy efficiency. If the door manufacturer uses Roto's Deventer weatherstripping, a perfect synergy between closing mechanism and weatherstripping is achieved. The evenly distributed compression around the door also prevents warping of the door leaf and thus extends the service life of a door.
Automatic locking guarantees end users the necessary security as soon as the door is closed. Never again doubt whether they have locked their door when leaving. However, it can also sometimes cause problems, for example to bring in groceries. But that too is easily solved with the help of the "daytime unlocking" option. Indeed, one can deactivate the automatic locking by simply flipping a switch. This function can also be integrated on existing doors.
For manufacturers who mainly use manually operated locks and only rarely need to integrate an electromechanical version, Roto developed the Tandeo Upgrade-Kit. "With this you can upgrade a Tandeo model to a fully electromechanical door lock with all the functionality of the Eneo A," concludes Gerry Claassens. "Ultimately, it is then unnecessary to keep both lock models in stock."
