Last summer six window openers were installed at a greenhouse company in Sint Maartensbrug in the province of Noord-Holland. Because of the large forces that are put on the two large skylights in the greenhouse, the choice fell on the T50 electric rack opener from Teleflex BV from Tiel.
The skylights in the greenhouse in Sint Maartensbrug have an impressive width of 6000 mm and a height of 860 mm. Such large skylights are not only heavy, but are also exposed to extra large forces in wind and rain. The vertically mounted T50 linear electric rack opener proved to be the ideal solution here. "And by using multiple openers, the load is evenly distributed," says Teleflex operations manager Jesse Verheem. "In addition, the six rack openers allow the large windows to be opened and closed evenly and efficiently. In this case, this is done with a convenient radio remote control that also allows the cashier to accurately control ventilation. This provides better control of temperature and humidity in the greenhouse."
In greenhouse construction, creating a healthy growing environment for plants and vegetables is a prerequisite. "The T50 window openers also make an important contribution to this, because they provide improved ventilation and thus optimal air circulation," Jesse clarifies. "Moreover, thanks to efficient ventilation, energy costs in the greenhouse can be significantly reduced. In today's time of skyrocketing gas prices, this is obviously essential."
According to Jesse, what also makes the T50 window openers so suitable for greenhouse construction is their durability: "These rack openers are specially designed for long-term use and require minimal maintenance. In short, it's a reliable solution that will last a long time."
In addition to window openers for skylights, Teleflex also offers innovative solutions for top-hung, inward-falling and sliding windows, among others. "In addition to a radio remote control, all these windows can also be controlled in other ways, such as, for example, with a switch on the wall or via a Wi-Fi connection with an app on the smartphone," Jesse concludes.
