Quality, durability and longevity are critical in the window and door industry to meet the high demands of customers. Modern designs require materials that not only look good, but also function reliably in different weather conditions. To help manufacturers and installers meet these challenges, Novatio is introducing two powerful solutions that significantly improve and speed up the bonding process in the construction and assembly of windows and doors: MSF-1145 MS Fastbond 1K and MSU-1136 MS Ultra Fastbond 2K.
The strength and ability to bond different materials while ensuring structural integrity has long been one of the most critical aspects in the production and assembly of windows and doors. Novatio offers a robust, yet flexible solution with the MSF-1145 MS Fastbond 1K.
"This mono-component hybrid MS polymer adhesive results in a low-stress bond with high tensile strength. MSF-1145 MS Fastbond 1K is therefore perfect for bonding dissimilar materials often used in window and door construction. Think glass, metal frames, engineering plastics and even more challenging substrates such as polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) with the use of Seal & Bond Special Primer. Ideal for low-stress bonding and sealing of, for example, day edges, blind panels and cover battens," explains Mano Geuns, sales manager Benelux windows, doors and outdoor living at Novatio.
"This adhesive cures at room temperature and is silicone-free, making it a safer and more user-friendly alternative for professional use. Its flexibility allows for better absorption of stress, which is especially important when windows or doors are subject to expansion or contraction due to temperature changes. This extends the life of the product and provides more durable performance in demanding environments."
For time-sensitive projects that require immediate results, Novatio developed a product with exceptional curing speed: MSU-1136 MS Ultra Fastbond 2K. "This 2-component system is ideal for heavy assembly tasks and is designed for fast and safe bonding of components such as window frames, glass panels and hardware elements. After as little as 30 minutes, the bonding is already hand-tight. Thus, one can significantly speed up the production process, for example, when bonding sash cover panels or glass in U-profiles. It cures quickly to the core, even in thick layers," continues the sales manager.
"In addition, this adhesive is UV and weather resistant, so finished installations can withstand direct sunlight, rain and temperature fluctuations. So the same cartridge can be used for multiple applications, reducing waste and making it cost-effective for larger projects. This product is also completely odorless and no mold occurs. Ultra Fastbond 2K adheres to most common materials such as varnished and galvanized surfaces, ferrous and nonferrous metals, steel, aluminum, paint, varnish, polyester, wood and most plastics."
Window and door manufacturers need to keep production downtime and element rework to an absolute minimum. Thanks to these new products from Novatio, they can assemble products faster and more reliably. As a result, lead times are shorter and there are fewer problems during installation.
"Low-stress bonding with MSF-1145 MS Fastbond 1K minimizes possible complications caused by materials expanding and contracting at different speeds. As a result, the risk of bond breakage decreases," concludes Mano Geuns. "Similarly, MSU-1136 MS Ultra Fastbond 2K's fast cure and strong adhesion to various materials helps manufacturers meet urgent deadlines without sacrificing bond quality."
