Elegant plastic windows and doors are tops when it comes to insulation. The ThermoFibra Infinity series, however, is in a class of its own. Indeed, the combination of structural glass fibers in the sash and steel wire reinforced PVC rigid foam in the frame provides outstanding performance in terms of thermal insulation, acoustics, burglar resistance, wind and water tightness. These products are available in three solid colors (white, cream and light gray) and sixteen coating colors, and can be covered with films in fifty-seven colors. Everyone wins thanks to this innovative development by Deceuninck: manufacturer, installer, architect and consumer.
Windows and doors should not only be beautiful and stylish, but also durable and safe. Deceuninck responds to this perfectly with the plastic systems of the Elegant series. This includes various sash designs, so there is a solution to suit every architectural style: Origin with beveled design and a classic look, Abstract with a flat profile and Infinity with a subtle transition from profile frame to sash.
"This latest version is available in a ThermoFibra version, an innovative technology we developed and patented in 2012. This involves inserting structural, long glass fibers into the window and door sashes during the extrusion process to replace the standard steel reinforcement. In addition, Forthex, a thermal reinforcement based on steel wire reinforced PVC rigid foam, which is much lighter and easier to process, was chosen for the frame profile," says technical manager Wouter Vanderstraeten. "Replacing the classic steel reinforcement allows us to eliminate a thermal bridge and thus guarantee better insulation values. For example, Uf values as low as 0.91 W/m²K can be achieved for the opening windows, and Uf values as high as 0.99 W/m²K for the front doors. Our windows and doors therefore help to keep the heat in during winter and keep the house cool on hotter summer days.
The Elegant ThermoFibra Inifinity is available in two versions, each with a sash 85 mm deep, combined with a frame of 76 or 115 mm, respectively. This deeper frame version of 115 mm is ideal for the standard construction method in the Netherlands. Also typical is its sloped exterior, with a possible choice of inclination of 5° or 15°. This window includes a double stop seal as standard and can optionally be equipped with a center seal."

With the Elegant ThermoFibra Infinity, everyone wins. Manufacturers work faster because they need fewer profiles to make the windows and doors, fewer settings on the machine and fewer adjustments. In addition, the number of operations during processing is reduced, since the additional milling in the steel reinforcement is eliminated.
"As windows and glass panes continue to increase in size, it's a bonus for installers that the sashes are much lighter and easier to handle, without sacrificing strength. Because the sashes are lighter, the hardware is also less stressed. That has an added benefit for the longevity of these components. Architects are impressed by the performance in terms of thermal insulation, acoustics, burglar resistance, wind and water tightness, while the consumer is impressed by the sleek, slim, minimalist design and ease of maintenance," adds Vanderstraeten.
"Moreover, we also attach great importance to the color range of the profiles. In order to guarantee the same color for all joinery, we developed 'Smart Colours', so that the available color coatings for plastic (Decoroc) and aluminum (Aluroc) match each other perfectly. This range includes sixteen RAL colors. There are also fifty-seven foil colors divided into four categories: natural wood textures, colored wood textures, solids and metallics."
Finally, as one of the pioneers of the circular economy, Deceuninck is also thinking about the environment. After all, these steelless window and door systems can be recycled to the full 100 % in their own specialized factory in Diksmuide. Elegant ThermoFibra Infinity plastic profiles can even be recycled up to eight times again without sacrificing quality and performance. Taking into account that a window or front door in plastic has a lifespan of at least 35 years, we then arrive at a life cycle of at least 280 years.
